This episode is all about CIOT technical committees, to give you an insight into what its like, and also advice on how to become a member of one, based on my experiences.
I became interested way before I was tax qualified. I had no ATT and CTA at the time, and little tax experience so I waited for much longer than I probably should have done (in hindsight).
I definitely had a bit of imposter syndrome, because members of technical committees are so experienced and well respected, and I thought I wouldn’t be taken seriously until I was experienced enough.
I was very wrong, however!
The Employment Taxes Committee (of which I’m a member) is very friendly and welcoming.
Listen to the episode to get an insight into what it’s like and how to become a member.
